A commercial office space located in Westbourne Studios; Notting Hill’s cool, creative, community work hub.
For the founders of this healthy and ethical plant-based, fast food brand, developed for busy people ‘on the go’, it was important that the company’s workspace reflected its ethos and outlook. With a growing team of 16, the office environment needed to be inspiring and dynamic, with a cool laid-back vibe that showed what these foodies stand for.
The Zulufish team carried out the architectural design and build of the office space, which is situated in a former warehouse transformed and divided into a collection of business units for a cool, creative crowd.
Industrial ceilings and metal beams form the fabric of the building, so the design scheme plays to its strengths, starting with a polished concrete floor.
Bespoke joinery by HUX London was designed to offer stylish storage that discreetly disappears into the background. Situated beneath the ceiling, the storage was spray-painted the same warm white as the original breeze block walls and interspersed with cube-shaped open shelving for displaying the brand’s colourfully graphic product packaging, as well as books and plants.
Custom-made desks and drawer units were crafted from steel and mango wood for an earthy, organic feel, while a cowhide rug brings a cool member’s club vibe.
A large table made from the same mango wood as the desks sits beneath an over-sized metal floor lamp and is teamed with multi-coloured Eames chairs, resulting in a vibrant meeting area.
An informal bar and meeting area has also been designed to complement the table and desks, with a mango wood surface, and is accompanied by chic bar stools.
A retro lighting scheme consisting of suspended pendants sits comfortably in this bright warehouse-style space, which provides ample inspiration for its inhabitants.
