A large three-bedroom penthouse apartment with a triple aspect balcony surrounding the sitting room and dining room, offering spectacular views across Chelsea. There is a large kitchen, a study and each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom.
Our clients, an art dealer and his wife, wanted their London pied à terre to have a sophisticated overtone, with bold elements, where they could relax, invite friends over and enjoy the location.
A neutral scheme with luxurious materials, bespoke furniture and opulent fabrics was devised. In the generous hallway, a glass teardrop chandelier from Ochre and an ethereal painting elevate the space, complemented by a smart console desk from Andrew Martin and a buttoned ruby red velvet bench seat.
In the living room, against a backdrop of white walls and timber flooring, a wood panelled double-sided fireplace inset with metal strips was designed as the centrepiece. This divides the living and dining spaces and was the focal point of the scheme. On one side, the fireplace is teamed with pale ecru sofas, geometric patterned rug by Calvin Klein, B+B Italia chairs and heavy drapes crafted with Rubelli fabric. Accents of crimson red in the upholstery and accessories energise the neutral palette.
On the other side of the fireplace is an elegant bespoke timber dining table surrounded by ecru upholstered dining chairs on a soft grey bamboo silk rug. Suspended above is a beautiful statement chandelier.
The master bedroom has a wall of bespoke floor-to-ceiling linear panelled joinery, concealing wardrobes and storage. Opposite, a sumptuous leather panelled wall echoes the linear style and serves as a statement headboard, while also disguising inset air con. Elegant furniture in pale ivory hues and dark wood sit perfectly in this space.
The two guests rooms have elegant neutral schemes punctuated with punchy tones of burnt orange and fresh blue.
The wrap around terrace is peppered with stylish Kettal outdoor furniture and oversized topiary planters, providing the perfect spot for the owners to entertain friends and enjoy views of the river and the capital’s bustling streets below.
