A truly inspirational new build hill home in the prestigious St George’s Hill community, our brief was to create a contemporary home in reimagined Mid century style integrating a Japanese garden feel into the natural surroundings of St George’s Hill. Spread over four floors and encompassing 14,000 sqft, the property includes an indoor / outdoor pool, spa, home cinema and internal courtyard.
A sensual over sized spiral stair corkscrews up through the building and sunken seating surrounds an outdoor fire pit on the lower terrace. The outdoor pool features a climbing wall and the design motif throughout is to integrate the internal and external spaces.
The exterior architecture is thus designed with angular rectilinear shapes that open up to the nature outdoors. Brise Soleil canopies filter the natural light to create an overture of light and shade, exuding feelings of serenity.
The exterior material palette is a mixture of exposed corten steel, timber cladding and frameless glass with pull-out features of contrasting brick and vertical strip detailing.
