Zulufish Residential has gained planning approval in Kew

We’re delighted to have been granted permission by The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames to proceed with the construction of a ground floor rear extension and a full basement excavation to improve a cottage terraced house in what is a prime residential street in Kew.

Through careful negotiation and collaboration with the council’s planning department through the pre-application advice service, Zulufish were able to gain permission on a street where no other basement applications have been successful, thus establishing the precedent of basement development.

The quality of our prior projects, the carefully considered design, the substance of the information provided by our expert consultants and the minimal visual impact from street level convinced the council that we could improve the property without conflicting with its protected status, as well as doubling the overall floor area of the property.

The rear extension will create an open plan kitchen and dining area with generous light and garden views. While the bedrooms on the first and second floor will benefit from a more spacious layout and en-suite bathrooms. The basement development will offer spacious living spaces, a gym and master suite, all flooded with light form above by large rooflights.
