Maximise Potential
At Zulufish our philosophy is simple. Maximise the potential of the property within our client’s budget, whether that be a simple refurbishment, structural renovation or high-end fit out. We build strong, trusted relationships with our clients through honest, professional and creative advice, cutting-edge design and budget-conscious intelligent build solutions.
Our aim is to provide the best possible solution to meet our clients’ requirements and aspirations, focusing on creatively reimagined spaces, luxuriously tactile interiors and bespoke storage solutions, all under the guiding principle of maximising natural light.
We pride ourselves on being able to listen to our clients’ needs and translate your vision into beautifully thought-out spaces, unique to you. Each completed project is the result of a process that starts with listening and learning about our clients, to understand how they live and the environment in which they wish to live.
Reflecting a love of simplicity and a sense of order, the originality and authenticity of our design schemes are always carefully considered yet effortlessly inspirational.
Our Team
Expertise
Our multi-faceted team offers a comprehensive range of specialist skills across the full spectrum of interiors, architecture and construction, resulting in an outstanding portfolio of projects. We pride ourselves on developing excellent client relationships, which result in an extremely high proportion of repeat business and word-of-mouth recommendations.
As members of RIBA (the Royal Institute of British Architects) and the BIID (British Institute of Interior Designers) we fully understand the need for creative design, careful planning and timely project execution. In further commitment to that cause we are currently in the process of integrating ISO 9001 through all our workstreams, resulting in continuous evaluation and improvement through all our systems and processes.
Felix Milns — Founder & Advisor
Zulufish was founded in 2005 by property developer Felix Milns. Conceived to offer the client the design and build service that he had been unable to find as a client, Zulufish puts customer service, innovative design and expert project management as the cornerstones of construction.
Every personal development that Felix has ever undertaken has broken local sales price records, and we bring the same level of design-led and budget-conscious attention to detail to our clients’ projects, taking great pride in not just the end product, but also the manner in which both the design and build are conceived and delivered.
While Felix remains a key advisor for Zulufish, his day job is running Zulufish’s sister company HUX, a market-leading joinery specialist that creates bespoke kitchens, cabinetry and furniture for a wide range of discerning private clients and design professionals.
Caroline Milns — Head of Interior Design
From a young age Caroline’s passion for travelling has informed both her design style and her love of colour and texture. Through her early career as a specialist in textile design, she became a global expert on textiles, techniques and crafts, while garnering a deep understanding and refinement of colour.
Caroline has over 25 years experience at the cutting edge of design and interiors. She began her career as a textile designer for Monkwell fabrics, before progressing to manage a team of designers for the John Lewis home design studio. In 2007, Caroline re-trained as an interior designer, working for Helen Green and McVitty Interior Consultants on both residential and commercial projects, before launching the interiors arm of Zulufish.
Since that time, we have won many interior design awards and created some truly memorable projects, from villas in Croatia and high-end retail to large family homes in London and beyond. Caroline firmly believes that good design can not only transform your home or workspace, but also your mental health and quality of life.
Oliver Steele-Perkins — Head of Construction
Oliver began his career as a property manager in West London where he managed a large portfolio of property for UK and overseas investors. The role quickly led to working with the company acquisition team, to plan and develop property for clients with completed houses being added to the managed portfolio or returned to the market for sale. Oliver went on to work as a client project manager advising homeowners, investors and developers on all stages of preparing for and managing building work from feasibility through the design, consent and build process.
With 20+ years of project management experience Oliver has worked on all types of residential development including new build, complex structural remodelling, basements, all types of extension, conversions and by invitation has advised on the Ask an Expert panel at Grand Designs Live, contributed to Homebuilding & Renovation magazine and spoken at events about the importance of pre-construction and build stage project management.
Oliver joined Zulufish in 2022 as Head of Construction. He is responsible for monitoring work and quality across all our building projects, working with our team of Project Managers and ensuring that our programmes are met, budgets managed, and our clients are delighted with the fruition of their project.
William Hopes — Cost Consultant
William started his career in Quantity Surveying in 2007, since which time he has worked for main contractors, professional consultancies, developers and subcontractors, giving him a 360 degree view of construction costings. This breadth of experience has given him a well-rounded knowledge of the construction industry and expertise in both estimating and procurement, including both traditional and two-stage.
With a strong track record of forming and maintaining long-term client and subcontractor relationships, William is ideally positioned to provide detailed cost consultancy, as well as significant input into value engineering and overall financial management and planning of your project. His expertise in contract management ensures a smooth and thorough tender and contracting process. Much of his experience and expertise prior to joining Zulufish was with high-end residential Design & Build schemes, be they cut and carve refurbishments or bespoke new build, so he is ideally placed to advise our clients on costs at each stage.
